　　Do youagree or disagree with the following statement？Television has destroyed communication among friends and family. Use specificreasons and examples to support your opinion.

　　不完全同意这个观点。一方面人们看电视的时间越来越多；另外一方面人与人之间的关系越来越冷漠。但是这两个现象并不是完全、直接的因果关系。造成人们关系冷漠的原因很多，比如工作、生活等。

　　To agreeor disagree with the statement that television has destroyed the communicationamong family and friends is a matter of balancing its pros and cons. However， if one considers the following reasons， heor she may disagree with the title statement as I do.

　　First， some people may hold the view that friends and family would easilyfight with each other for the programs on the television that he or she wantsto watch. For example， the child may be likely to switchto the cartoon channel while the father wants to see the news program， and the mother prefers a romantic movie. However， as far as I am concerned， the scenario isan exaggeration. I do not think such a trivial quarrel would destroy anythingimportant， and as friends or family， the one result is to attribute to the communication. Each personwould present their reasons for watching the program，so that next time they would not argue for the same thing again. They know thetaste of each number of the family and they will probably try to avoid suchconflicts. In addition， television offers us numeroustopics to talk about. Television informs us of what is happening around theworld. Everybody has his/her own reaction towards these events. Withouttelevision， we may hold the idea that no one would havethe chance to share. When the friends and the whole family sit together infront of a television， a nice and intimate atmosphereis provided for communication. Through such kind of communication， family members can understand each other better. A small examplemay give some light to this point. Once I had some disagreement and had nottalked to my dad for several days. One night， when mydad and I were watching television together， we foundan interesting topic that both of us wanted to say something about it， so we said a little first and talk much later and all theunpleasant disappear out of existence. So， in my pointof view， nothing has been destroyed by television. Onthe contrary it might improve our communication..............
